Karen Biggs-Tucker

Karen Biggs-Tucker is a teacher in St. Charles, IL where she has taught for over 30 years at both the primary and intermediate grade levels. Karen loves to inspire her learners to understand how they can use literacy to change their lives by understanding themselves and others better. She shares her ideas about integrating a diverse books and engaging literacy activities with teachers across the country. Also she co-authored Transforming Literacy Instruction in the Era of Higher Standards (Grades 3-5) with her colleague (and husband), Brian Tucker.  

Brian Tucker

Brian Tucker currently teaches fifth grade in St. Charles, IL, but began his teaching career as both a second grade and multi-age teacher. He applies his expertise in both literacy and technology with his students each day as he helps them become prepared to meet the challenges of 21st century learning. Brian has dedicated over fifteen years to transforming his students as readers and writers. Also, he co-authoredTransforming Literacy Instruction in the Era of Higher Standards (Grades 3-5) with his wife (and colleague), Karen Biggs-Tucker.
